Choosing the contracted power in PVPC (Voluntary Price for Small Consumers)
In the regulated market or PVPC, you can contract two power levels: one for off-peak hours (each kW is cheaper) and one for peak hours (each kW is more expensive).
These two power levels can be the same or different. Your decision should be based on your consumption patterns and the times when you have most appliances running at the same time.
The bands for your contracted power are:
- Off-peak period: 12 midnight to 8am from Monday to Friday (except public holidays), and 24 hours a day on Saturdays, Sundays and national public holidays.
- Peak period: Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 8am to 12 midnight.

How to change your power levels with Energía XXI
Changing your contracted power is very quick through your Energía XXI Customer Area. Here is how to do it:
1. Log into your Customer Area
Just enter your username and password on the Customer Area page. If you haven't registered yet, here is how to register with Energía XXI.
2. Go to the "My Contracts" section
In the top menu, click "My contracts" to display the electricity contract for which you can change the contracted power levels.
3. Make your changes to the "Power and voltage" section
The "Power and voltage" section displays the power you have currently contracted, with an option to change this through the "Change" link.
4. New peak and off-peak power levels
Clicking the "Change" link opens a pop-up window where you can select the new power levels, both peak and off-peak. Once you have entered your changes, click the "Save changes" button.
5. Review the values before saving the changes
Choosing the right power for your electricity supply isn't always easy but it is important to get it right. Too low and you will be "blowing a fuse" all the time, too high and you will be overpaying on your bill.

How to use the Energía XXI power calculator
Step 1: Select the domestic appliances you have at home
Mark or select all the electrical appliances in your home or premises. Now click "Next"
Step 2: Select which appliances you use at the same time during peak and off-peak times
Group the appliances you usually use at the same time in the peak and off-peak periods.
- Peak times: M to F 8am - 12 midnight.
- Off-peak hours: M to F 12 midnight - 8am | Sat, Sun and public holidays 24h
The graph shows the power you have currently contracted as an orange line and the recommended new power level in blue.
Changing your contracted electricity power with the Energía XXI app
With Energía XXI you can also change your contracted electricity from the mobile app. The steps are even simpler than using the website, so we always recommend downloading the Energía XXI app.
- From Start click the "Electricity contract details" icon.
- Under "Power and tariff", click the edit icon (blue pencil).
- Select your peak and off-peak power levels.
- Click "Submit".
All the steps for changing your power level
- Log into the Energía XXI Customer Area.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click "My bills" in the top menu.
- This displays your electricity contract.
- Click "Change" in the Power and voltage section.
- Click Power Calculator in the pop-up window.
- Select your appliances.
- Select the appliances you use at the same time during peak and off-peak times.
- Enter the new power values in the pop-up window.
- Click Save changes.
